Optimized Lifts for Pallet Handling
The first U.S. patent for what we now know as the modern wooden pallet was issued in 1925. And since that time, pallets have become the backbone of the material handling industry. This article looks at various applications and the specific lifts that optimize the pallet handling workflow.
Assembly & Packaging
The process of assembling products and packaging them for shipping can be labor intensive. An Autoquip scissor lift integrated with a gravity or powered conveyor simplifies pallet loading, positioning, and transfer while creating consistent production efficiencies.
Brush Trimmer Manufacturing
Brush trimmers are considered standard equipment for commercial landscapers and homeowners alike. But keeping up with high customer demand was a tall (and somewhat awkward) order for one of our customers. Autoquip’s special 80-degree tilters allow workers to stand safely at floor level while making tall stacks of boxes. The trimmers can then be easily offloaded onto pallets for shrink wrapping and shipping.
Automatic Indexing
Are you using conveyed pallets in your operation? Our hydraulic scissor tables can be equipped with photo-electric sensors placed at the conveyor’s infeed or outfeed position. The automatic indexing feature ensures the correct height adjustment as materials interface with other machines and is loaded/unloaded to the conveyed pallet.
End-of-Conveyor Processing
With the addition of a manual or powered turntable, our industrial scissor tables make the end-of-conveyor phase more productive. With the ability to rotate 360 degrees, stacks of finished products can be easily positioned onto pallets for shrink wrapping.
Lumber Processing
Safety is a huge concern whenever saws are in use. We’ve designed saw-feed lifts that promote worker safety and ergonomics. These foot-operated lifts are installed upstream of a powered saw and include a manual height adjustment feature to streamline saw operation
Damaged Product Removal
Unfortunately, products can be damaged during manufacturing. By using an Autoquip industrial 90-degree tilter, workers can down-end a palletized stack of layered goods to gain access. While the stack is on its side, the damaged item can be removed or replaced. From there, the stack is placed in the upright position and returned to the pallet for shrink wrapping.
