Double Pantograph Scissor Lift Supports Payload Transfer
Introduction
Double Pantograph scissor lift with pneumatic gate interlocking system to transfer loads to Delta 4 Rocket.
Project Challenge
An easier method of transferring cargo onto a Delta 4 Rocket was needed and a solution that would serve as a temporary mezzanine for loading between the 15th and 16th floor of the fixed rocket tower. The requirements of the material handling equipment included precise positioning, air powered and locking pins for attaching to tower and creating a stable mezzanine floor.
Our Solution
A custom designed Double Pantograph scissor lift was built to integrate with the rocket launch tower and included air controlled operating valves and controlled pneumatic platform locking pins for accurate placement and alignment between floors. Autoquip also supplied gates and enclosures including pneumatic gate interlocking system for a complete and safe application solution.
The Results
This project is a classic example of Autoquip’s capabilities for integrating into a process with any industry and taking one of our standard lifts and fitting it with options based on customer specifications. The lift is in full use and ready for takeoff.
