Groove Feed Table for Pipe Fabrication

Fabrication process improved with Autoquip’s scissor lift table designed with a custom turntable and fixture to hold piping.

Critchfield Mechanical, Inc. who specializes in full service design build HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, piping and temperature controls was looking to improve their pipe fabrication process at their San Jose fab shop location. They challenged Autoquip to design and build a fabrication table to help them improve efficiencies and productivity.

To reduce time and increase productivity, Autoquip built a groove feed table that combines a Series 35 Scissor Lift Table mounted with a custom turntable and fixture to hold piping.

• Pipe is loaded from cart to table.
• Table moves along rails to keep pipe aligned with roller axis.
• Table moves up and down.
• Table top rotates 180 degrees so both ends can be grooved without removing the pipe.
• V-shaped cradles have ball bearings to allow pipe to rotate smoothly.
