A locomotive manufacturer needed a safer and more efficient way to handle large, heavy generator assemblies during their build process. The components required precise positioning, rotation, and ergonomic access.
Our Solution
Autoquip engineered a custom lift-and-tilter system featuring:
- A 9,000 lb. capacity lift system with integrated hydraulic tilter and powered ring-bearing turntable to tilt and turn yolk to working position for assembly
- Fully custom tooling and yoke-style fixtures designed to cradle the generator during assembly
This tailored system provided controlled lifting, tilting, and secure fixturing to support the customer’s exact workflow and component geometry.
