Dock Lift Improves Daily Operations at New Animal Hospital
Introduction
Extra Wide Series 35 converted to a dock lift to fit small pit at the Oklahoma City Zoo’s New Animal Care Hospital.
Project Challenge
The new Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital in the Oklahoma City Zoo was built to provide better tools and space for the treatment of wild animals entrusted to the Oklahoma City Zoo’s care. The state-of–the-art facility includes new surgery and treatment rooms, as well as animal holding cells to provide short term holding and medium term quarantine housing for animals at the zoo. To make the transfer of animals and medical supplies in and out of the facility easier, our dealer Hugg and Hall contacted Autoquip to build a dock lift.
Our Solution
The dock area at the facility is smaller than typical bays, so our engineers created a unique design by using our Series 35 Extra Wide Scissors Lift and converting it for a dock lift application fitting the required pit space.

The Results
The staff at the zoo’s animal hospital has said the lift is working great and has made daily operations run more smoothly.
